Sylwia Kapuscinski is an award-winning photojournalist. At 12 years-old, she immigrated  to the United States from Poland. Sylwia studied photojournalism at Rochester Institute of Technology, receiving her BFA. She earned her MBA from Western Governor's University.

Sylwia's work focuses on refugee and immigrant communities and on underrepresented and misrepresented people. She has worked as a staff photographer at Detroit Free Press, Naples Daily News, and as an intern at National Geographic Magazine. Her work has been published in The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Smithsonian, U.S. News and World Report, Ladies Home Journal, and many other publications throughout the world. 

She has received awards from World Press Photo, Pictures of The Year, The Best of Photojournalism, Society for News Design, The Association for Women in Communications, Scripps Howard Publishing, The Michigan Press Photographers Association, Florida Press Club, Florida Society of Newspaper Editors, and New Jersey Press Photographers Association.
